Learn how CanGoShare verifies platform members and how to stay safe when sharing rides.
Participation in carpooling on CanGoShare is entirely voluntary. CanGoShare does not guarantee safety or government approval. Customers and drivers remain responsible for checking suitability, identity, licence, insurance, vehicle safety, and compliance with transportation and municipal requirements. Private contact details are revealed only after a customer selects a driver.
Before offering a ride on CanGoShare, all drivers must submit mandatory documents for manual Administrator inspection:
CanGoShare ensures accountability across all community members:
Always check the vehicle make, model, colour, and number plate against the trip details on your screen. Confirm the driver's name before entering the vehicle.
Do not share unnecessary financial, banking, or sensitive personal information with other members. Carpool payments are handled strictly via cash contributions at pickup.
Location sharing occurs strictly during active, ongoing trips. Passengers can track driver ETA during active journeys.
If you ever feel unsafe, threatened, or involved in a vehicle emergency, call 911 emergency services immediately before contacting platform support.
Rate your driver or passenger after every completed trip. Our moderation team reviews reported members and revokes accounts for policy violations.
