1. Acceptance of Terms

By creating an account, accessing, or using the CanGoShare web application or related services, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agreed to be bound by these Terms of Service and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree to these terms, you must not access or use the platform.

2. User Roles & Account Eligibility

CanGoShare provides two member roles: Customers and Drivers, plus a separate administrative role.

• You must be at least 18 years of age to register an account on CanGoShare.
• Passengers must verify their email address before requesting or booking seats.
• Riders/Drivers must provide a valid Driver's Licence (Front & Back), Vehicle Insurance Document, Vehicle Safety Inspection Certificate, and unexpired document dates subject to mandatory manual Administrator approval prior to offering rides.

3. Shared Cost Arrangement & Cash Payments

CanGoShare is designed solely for carpooling and shared ride cost contributions between private individuals.

• Any ride payment is arranged directly between the customer and driver.
• CanGoShare does not process online payments, take commissions from cash payments, or act as a financial intermediary.
• CanGoShare does not employ drivers and is not a licensed transportation provider or government service.
• Private phone numbers are disclosed only after the customer selects a driver.
• Drivers agree that cost contributions requested from passengers are strictly intended to cover shared travel expenses (e.g., fuel, tolls, vehicle maintenance) and do not constitute commercial transport for hire.

4. User Conduct & Safety Responsibilities

All users agree to interact respectfully, lawfully, and safely when using the platform or participating in a shared trip.

• Customers and drivers are responsible for confirming suitability, licence, insurance, vehicle safety, and compliance with applicable provincial, municipal, and other laws.
• Drivers and passengers must arrive on time at designated pickup points.
• Harassment, reckless driving, illegal substance use, or abusive behavior will result in immediate and permanent account termination.

5. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, CanGoShare, its operators, officers, employees, and agents shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, consequential, special, or punitive damages resulting from:

• Any conduct, acts, omissions, or disputes between passengers and drivers.
• Traffic accidents, personal injury, property damage, or delays occurring during a shared trip.
• The accuracy, completeness, or reliability of driver documentation uploaded to the platform.
• Interruption, temporary suspension, or unavailability of the platform service.

6. Verification Disclaimer

While CanGoShare performs administrative document checks (including Driver's Licence, Safety Inspection, and Insurance checks), CanGoShare does not guarantee or warrant the background, driving skill, sobriety, or safety of any driver or passenger. Users are encouraged to exercise personal caution and judgment when arranging shared rides.

7. Account Termination

CanGoShare reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to suspend or terminate any user account, block access, or remove trip listings at any time for violation of these Terms of Service or for safety concerns.
